IASAS MUN starts next week with teams arriving Wed November 16th. The MUN conference will take place Nov 17th-19th with teams departing Sunday morning Nov 20th. If you have signed up to house a visiting delegate you will be receiving your housing letter with information from this Thursday Nov 10th and 11th via the HS office. Please return the slip to indicate you have received the letter to ATAC office asap. We are looking forward to hosting this important IASAS event.

2nd Season opening event: Friday November 11th sees the start of our 2nd season matches for HS teams, we hope to have a big crowd out to support the teams as they begin the season. The program of events is listed below and there will also be some fun games and family activities during the matches at the HS field to keep people entertained and make it a family fun afternoon/evening. Come on out and have some fun, cheer for the ISM Bearcats and enjoy the school spirit! Hot dogs and drinks will be on sale by the HS field.
Rugby: 4:00pm JV boys v Faith,  followed by varsity boys v Faith
Boys Basketball: 4:15 Varsity boys v Brent, followed by JV boys v Brent jv at HS Gym
Girls Basketball: 4:15 JV girls v Brent jv, followed by Varsity girls v Brent Varsity at MS Gym
Touch: Now confirmed ISM v Faith varsity and jv Touch from 4:15 at MS field

ISM Varsity Boys Well done to our varsity boys soccer team who played a fantastic match last Saturday afternoon vs FEU to narrowly lose 0-1 in the RIFA League Championship final. Well done players and coaches on a great season!
The 2nd season practice schedule is posted on the ATAC blog and on school notice boards. This schedule takes effect as of Monday November 7th for all 2nd season MS/HS teams.
IASAS GOLF: becomes a reality….following the IASAS tournament in Singapore the IASAS Board meeting was held and a proposal for Golf to become an official IASAS sport was accepted and approved by the board. From next school year IASAS Golf, which has gone through a 4 year trial, will now become a part of the IASAS Schedule.
The tournament format, host for the 1st IASAS Golf event will be worked out this school year and ratified at the April meeting. This is an exciting addition to the IASAS program of events. ISM golfers get practicing ready to be a part of the action next year at IASAS Golf.

MS and HS Academic Bowl: Our MS/HS Academic Bowl teams led by Mr and Mrs. Birchenall will travel to Faith Academy this week (Tues 8th HS and Thur 10th MS) to take part in the fall academic bowl competition. We wish the participants the very best of luck in this first competition of this year. Upddate: Congratulations to our HS Academic Bowl team who won the Fall event by 50 points at Faith Academy today, Nov 8th!

IASAS RESULTS: Congratulations to all our teams who went to Singapore prior to the break. It was a great tournament and ISM performed very well to take 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Well done to all athletes and coaches .

It is IASAS week and I would like to wish all our teams the very best for this years 30th anniversary tournaments in Singapore.  All  the ISM community will be supporting our teams as they will no doubt be striving to play hard and represent ISM to the very best of their ability on and off the field of play during this exciting event. It promises to be an action packed 3 days with all sports taking place at the one host school. Good luck to all athletes and coaches in your quest for IASAS medals and top performances this week!
For those parents interested in the 1st Season IASAS championships you can access the full tournament draw with details of all events on the ATAC blog. Our teams will depart for Singapore Wednesday Oct 19 and return to Manila Sunday Oct 23.
SAS will be live streaming the IASAS championships this coming week..go to www.iasas.asia to find the live streaming sites. All the action starts Thursday morning Oct 20th.
Well done to our Bearcats Golf Team who participated in Taipei last weekend at the IASAS Golf Exchange two day tournament. Our girls team won GOLD with Angela (72,78) and Mika(84, 84) shooting terrific scores to take out the team award and also place 2nd and 3rd in the individual awards. Our boys team placed 6th and I would like to thank all participants and our golf advisors for taking part in this years event.
ISM Varsity Boys soccer played Ateneo last Friday Oct 14 in the RIFA boys Elite division semi-final and in a thrilling game won 2-1. They will now play in the championship final on Friday Nov 4th here at ISM at 5:15pm.
The JV girls soccer team played the final last Saturday v ICA and lost 1-2 in a close game. Well done to all players and coaches Mr.Cooling and Mr. Reilly for their efforts this season.

ES/MS Soccer Festival Results: ISM Midgets C-Coach Eric’s team placed 3rd, ISM ES Midgets E-Coach Francis’s team placed 1st-congratulations! and Midgets G, Coach Mike’s team  placed 3rd. MS Girls festival teams of Coach Kleng and Coach Chris placed 2nd and 3rd in the finals Saturday afternoon at Xavier. A big thanks to all players/coaches and parents who attended the RIFA Festival Finals.

ATAC Announcements Week 11 Oct 10-14, 2011

Good luck to our Bearcats Golf Team who fly to Taipei this Thursday for the IASAS Golf Exchange two day tournament.
ISM Varsity Girls and Boys Soccer play Faith this Wednesday after school in tune-up games and then the varsity girls plays UP on Thursday.
ISM Varsity Boys soccer play Ateneo at 4:30pm this Friday Oct 14 in the RIFA boys Elite division semi-final.
Varsity Volleyball teams play this Friday and Saturday at Faith in the annual Dan Landry Tournament. This will be the final preparation tournament for our teams prior to them leaving for IASAS next Wednesday Oct 19th.

ES/MS Soccer Festivals: Due to heavy rain the Oct 8th festival was canceled. Check the links in helpful shortcuts for exact details regards the ES and MS RIFA 7 a side soccer festival finals and which teams have qualified for this coming Saturday Oct 15th. Finals for the C festival will be held at Xavier School Greenhills in the morning, and the E and G festival finals will now be at ISM (please note this change of venue). The MS girls festival finals are also Oct 15th at Xavier 1pm-5pm, all ISM MS girls teams have qualified to play in the finals.

The festival finals of the 7 aside competition has been changed due to the cancelled festival last Saturday. Previously only the top 8 teams would qualify based on results from  the cumulative festivals however now the top 16 teams from the two festivals that have been played will qualify in a modified 4 team pool playoff system. This will allow more teams into the finals due to the cancellation last Saturday and the inability to complete the 3rd festival day. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches on Saturday. If you finish top of your group after the round robin you go straight to semi-finals.

The finals participants for C, E and G festival finals are:

ISM C1 and C3 (Coach Eric and Coach Chris’ teams have qualified for finals to be held at Xavier.

ISM E1, E2 and G (Coach Francis, Coach Popoy and Coach Mike’s teams have qualified for the the finals to be held at ISM (note this was to be at Xavier but has been changed to ISM)

RIFA Girls HS Soccer Final: ISM played Miriam College this past Saturday in the girls division 1 final and in a great game the ISM team lifted the champions trophy with a 3-0 victory. Congratulations to all players and coaches.

The JV girls soccer team played their semi final on Oct 8th vs La Salle Antipolo and won 3-1 and will now play the final on Oct 15th at 3pm on the MS field v ICA.

1st Season IASAS Information: IASAS Send off lunch is this Wednesday straight after HS assembly in the HS Courtyard, all players must attend.

Cross Country news: Results from last Saturday’s final  meet at Brent are now posted to the Cross Country meet results page.

ATAC Announcements Week 10 Oct 3-7, 2011

ISM Varsity Girls Soccer RIFA League Champions 2011 3-0 vs Miriam College
ISM JV girls soccer won v La Salle Antipolo 3-1 in their semi-final today. They play in final next Saturday Oct 15th at ISM

ES/MS Soccer Festivals: Due to heavy rain the Oct 8th festival was canceled. RIFA Girls HS Soccer: The semi finals for the Varsity girls soccer divisions took place last Saturday and ISM varsity girls defeated Poveda and will now play Miriam College this coming Saturday in the girls division 1 final at 3pm on the HS field.

The JV girls soccer team will play their semi final on Oct 8th vs La Salle Antilpolo at 1pm and then the finals on Oct 15th at MS field.

1st Season IASAS Information: Travel packets have been distributed  for 1st season athletes. Please ensure passports are submitted to Joan at ATAC office immediately and all documentation must be completed and returned by Monday Oct 3rd.

Cross Country news: Results from last Friday’s twilight meet at ISM are now posted to the Cross Country meet results page.  Thanks to all those who came to support the runners for our first twilight race last Friday it was a terrific success. The last local race of the season will be held this Saturday at Brent for our MS and HS Cross Country teams.
