IASAS MUN and Cultural Conventions have in the past been the responsibility of the ATAC Department. This school year Ms Vicki Close, the ISM Fine and Performing Arts Director, has taken over the responsibility of coordinating the IASAS Cultural events/MUN. For school year 2012-13 Mr. Neil Woods/Ms Marsha Hillman will have the coordinating responsibilities for both the MUN/IASAS Cultural Convention program.
The ISM Fine Arts office and ATAC office will work closely together to ensure all aspects of these programs continue to offer the best possible experience for ISM student delegates in our MUN and Cultural Convention programs.
IASAS MUN is held each November with all IASAS schools participating along with 9 other invited schools, “friends of IASAS’, for this event. The conference is very much student driven and student run with the schools MUN advisers providing technical and logistical support to make the convention a success. Next year the IASAS MUN will be held in Taipei.
ISM also participates in the annual BEIMUN conference each March as the culminating conference for yearly MUN program.
IASAS Cultural Conventions from school year 2011-12 school year are now offered in a different format to past years. The conventions have been realigned by the IASAS Board and will now operate as 3 stand alone conventions instead of 2 as in past years.
The conventions and locations are as follows for 2012-13:
Art/Dance/Drama @ ISM Feb 27-March 3 2013
Music @ SAS Feb 27-March 3 2013
Debate/Forensics @ JIS Feb 27-March 3 2013
