IASAS Golf

In April 2017 ISM will have the pleasure to host IASAS Golf for the very first time. Course venue is Mt. Malarayat and it is going to be a great event to host for our school. Golfers will stay on course for 3 nights and we are looking forward to hosting 60 visiting IASAS golfers to Manila for this 3 day golf tournament April 6-8, 2017. We are also hosting IASAS Badminton in season 3 at the same time as IASAS golf so it is going to be an exciting time at ISM in April. If you can help out with housing for Golf please get in contact with the ATAC office or look on blog home page to access the online housing sign ups for Golf. We only need to house the golfer on Sat Apr 8 when they return to Manila prior to flying out Sunday morning Apr 9th. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

At the October 2011 IASAS board meeting in Singapore, golf after a 4 year trial, was approved as a fully sanctioned IASAS sport from school year ’12-13. The 1st official IASAS Golf Tournament was held at ISKL April 10-14, 2013: ISM Boys and Girls Golf team won SILVER and BRONZE at the  1st IASAS Golf Tournament!

About IASAS Golf-

Tournament Format:  IASAS Golf is a three day event, two days of stroke play individual and team tournament format plus one day of match play.  Pairings for the final day of match play format are determined based on #1-6 ranking from the 2 day stroke rounds.

A team champion trophy is awarded for the best 2 day combined stroke play score with best 4 boys cards counting and best 4 girls cards counting toward the total score.

Also awarded are medals for the top 6 male and female golfers based on gross score. The IASAS team roster is made up of 6 male and 6 female HS golfers.

The golf team that travels to IASAS is determined by a series of qualifying rounds that are played along with attendance at regular practice sessions. ISM golfers who submit the minimum number of signed golf cards and show dedication by attending the arranged ISM golfing qualifying round dates/practice sessions are eligible for selection to the traveling team.
