Calling all ISM Golfers (open to Grade 9-12 next school year) There will be an informational meeting for the 2012-13 HS IASAS  Golf Team on Thursday, May 17, Rm 2023 @ 3:15pm in  Mr. Hamaguchi’s room. Golf is now an IASAS sport as of next year, if you can play get involved in the first ISM IASAS Golf Team.

Breaking news!!!!! Golf becomes an IASAS sport. At the October 2011 IASAS board meeting in Singapore, golf after a 4 year trial, was approved as an fully fledged IASAS sport from next school year 12-13. This is fantastic news so Bearcat golfers get practicing, can you make history and be selected to the inaugural ISM IASAS Golf Team of 6 boys and 6 girls next year?

Congratulations to ISM Girls Golf team for winning the Gold medal in the teams section of this years golf exchange tournament at Taipei. With top 2 scores counting on each of the two days, Angela and Mika shot 72,78 and 84, 84 to take out the team gold award. Angela and Mika also placed 2nd and 3rd in the individual section of the tournament. Well done to all our Bearcat golfers who represented the school at this event and a big thanks to Mr. Pethan and Mr. Hamaguchi this year’s golf advisers.

Golf Results Taipei Golf Exchange 2011

The 1st official fully fledged IASAS Golf Tournament will be held at ISKL April 10-14, 2013.

Tournament Format: Three day event, two days of stroke play individual and team tournament format plus one day of match play.  A team champion trophy is awarded for the best 2 day combined stroke play score with best 4 boys cards counting and best 4 girls cards counting toward the total score. Also awarded are medals for the top 6 male and female golfers based on gross score. The team roster is made up of 6 male and 6 female HS golfers.

The golf team that travels to IASAS is determined by a series of qualifying rounds that are played. ISM golfers who submit the minimum number of signed golf cards and show dedication by attending the arranged ISM golfing qualifying round dates are eligible for selection to the traveling team.
