Exciting developments for next school year:

In our quest to ensure ISM maintains and keeps improving the wonderful sports facilities we have it gives me great pleasure to advise that work has already started on the new roof top tennis court project  and that work will be starting in late May on resurfacing our track.

The tennis court redevelopment is a large scale project which when completed in mid/late October will provide a fully covered facility for tennis and PE classes with the addition of two courts (currently 6 to 8 courts), along with male/female locker rooms, extra storage space for equipment, roll away tennis nets, a small office and two areas of spectator bleachers.

Our athletics track will be resurfaced and the jumps runway/landing pit area will be relocated slightly to improve this facility. We will also be adding an additional shot-put circle, grading and resowing this area

ISM hosts IASAS Tennis and Track & Field next school year and these improvements will ensure we have the best facilities possible to host the IASAS Championships in 2013 and for our students/teams to use for their PE classes and team training on a day to day basis during the school year.

Last week our Head Coaches met to decide the major sports awards winners which will be presented at the HS Honors/Awards assembly on May 22nd.

Thank you to all HS parents and students who attended our final awards  for the year last Friday night. It was a wonderful evening to close our busy year of ATAC happenings and to recognize the hard work of our student athletes and coaching staff.

With Brent unable to host their usual meets this year it has meant a reduced number of meets however the effort and enthusiasm for competition has certainly been on display at all the meets conducted at ISM this season.
Our softball and badminton teams also had their final matches last weekend in preparation for the IASAS championships after the break. A reminder that IASAS teams travel Wednesday April 11th and return Sunday April 15th. Information about the 3 tournaments can be found under helpful shortcuts on the blog main page. We wish all our IASAS athletes the very best of luck at the final IASAS event of the school year.
 
 
IASAS teams will be announced this week and a recognition assembly followed by lunch at the HS courtyard will take play this Wednesday. All IASAS traveling team members must attend for final announcements and reminders.

Mon, Wed and Fridays from 11:30am – 1:00pm  and 2:30pm – 4:00pm. Tues and Thurs afternoons from 2:30-4pm.

ISM Goodwill Gymnastics Meet: March 10th:  Thanks to all our fantastic gymnasts and parents who competed and assisted with the Goodwill Meet last Saturday. Full  meet results will be posted the the gymnastics page of the blog soon and will also be included in the Friday bulletin this coming week.
 
For 3rd Season IASAS athletes please note passports will need to be submitted prior to the break (week of  March 19-23) for documentation checking. Any student traveling during the spring break must advise Joan at ATAC office so passports can be returned before March 29th.
 
3rd Season: Season practices schedules for  (Track and Field, Badminton, Softball for MS and HS students and Mixed Touch for MS students only)  are now posted to the blog and are on school notice boards.

ISM Goodwill Gymnastics Meet: March 10th: 
ISM hosts our gymnastics meet this coming Saturday March 10th. We have over 200 gymnasts entered from a variety of local and overseas clubs arriving to compete in the Olympic apparatus of floor, vault, uneven bars and beam, along with boys events under the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics program. This day is the biggest event of the year for our ISM gymnasts and is always well supported with a big crowd filling the bleachers to watch the competition. Our gymnastics parents booster club are heavily involved with organizing many aspects of the meet and I would like to express my thanks to the gymnasts parents for all the support they will provide to make this annual meet a big success. Please come along and check out the gymnastics action. Opening parade and welcome for Level 1 gymnasts starts at 8am and is followed by Level 2/3 competition and in the afternoon the more advanced Level 4/5 competition is held. Awarding ceremonies take place immediately after each level section is completed in the Little Theatre.
 
All students attending the Pre-IASAS badminton at Taipei and the boys softball at Bangkok should have submitted passports already. Please do so immediately.
