General Rifa League Information: (Parents/Athletes please read carefully!) 2016 season-Grade 8 girls and boys who are born ’02 must play in the HS Girls JV/ HS Boys Aspirants program, born ’02 students are too old to play in the Rifa MS girls festival teams or the Midgets A1/A2 teams.

ISM MS and HS soccer teams play in the RIFA (Rizal Football Association) League and ISM enters boys and girls teams under the age guidelines set by the RIFA League. All teams are determined via the tryouts week process during the first week of school in August. The season runs from August through end of October.
The RIFA rules for the boys league allows a team roster of 25 players but only 20 players can be named for each league match, thus on each match day 5 players will not be able to participate.
The girls league allows a playing roster of 20 players. Please note this is a competitive league and not all players will be assured the same playing time.

With a 20 player roster for each match there are 9 subs for HS Varsity and Aspirants competition. For HS Open division once a player is subbed out they cannot re-enter (FIFA rules apply) thus coaches have to be more tactical and circumspect with player rotation especially in close/tight games.

Rolling subs where (players can go in/out) during games are allowed for; Aspirants boys, RIFA girls competition and for MS Midgets A1/A2 boys 11 a side competition. Coaches are able to rotate players more freely at this level of competition, thus it is easier to get more playing time for individuals.

Coaches monitor the playing rosters in an attempt a spread playing time for team members however equal  playing time is not guaranteed. Playing time on match days also depends on other factors such as (attitude/attendance/punctuality/performance at training sessions and on match days) .

A high level of dedication and effort is expected on our HS teams.
